Hi Yes i am still here. Just been feeling a little blogged out. Not that i am going to stop blogging, but i want to do something a little bit more inspirational with it.
I really would like to start doing sketches. Now i know some bloggers use power point. I checked out the cost for that and it is just too expensive. And i have no idea what else i can do. Can you use microsoft word???

Just thought i would share this one i made with you.I am trying to create 2 cards which use riibons to submit for a design team. I rejected this one. I have made another which i am happy with. Just need to think up another. I am off to London tomorrow. Not for sight seeing, as much as i would like. It is with work. We have to go and return in the same day. So no blogging tomorrow. Hi all. Had a fab time yesterday at the show. Spent a small fortune. And i am going back today, my poor credit card will be woren out. Meeting up with my good friend Lyn. It is always nice meeting up with friends. Hope it is not as busy today. Yesterday it was like a cattle market people pushing and banging in to you.

Studio Calico lo

Run up this lo with papers form the latest Studio Calico scrap kit. My own design.

The kit was called sherwood forest. I will have to get out some of the photo's i took when we were at center parcs ar sherwood forest in dec 2006. I just love center parcs. Wish i was there now. The woods are so beautiful when covered in a touch of frost. Will just have to settle for the yorkshire countryside instead.

Arty Girlz challenge

This is my take on this weeks Arty Girls challenge. It was to stamp. I have stamped the green flowers and the sentiment. The papers are by guess what!! bg again. Can you tell that i have a lot of them at the moment. The stamps are by Maya Road, another favourite of mine. The butterflies are paper punched. Got that idea from Keisha Campbell. I love that girls work. It is a big influence on me. Take a look if you have not already, you will be impressed.
Hope you are having a fab weekend. I am really looking forward to next weekend. It is the great yorkshire paper craft show. I have saved up ready to spend, spend and spend. I may need an extension to my scrap room for all that lovely new stash.

Di Hickman # 2 feb sketch

Hi all. What a fab day again. Little colder, but still lovely weather to be out and about. Hubby is off at the allotment, tending to our organic fruit and veg. The difference in taste is just unbelievable. The corn on the cob last year was devine. I am not really into the cultivating bit, just really into the eatting bit.
This is my take on this weeks Di Hickman sketch. Loved this sketch. Just keep thinking it will be my turn next month to be on the dt. I am so excited.
Anyway used papers by the lush basic grey. Paper punch for the hearts. I love this little scolloped heart. I was lucky enough to pick one up really cheap when they were selling them off a one of my local craft shops.

Morning, what a lovely day. Unfortunately i am not off work this week at half term, but i am off today. Plan to go for a walk up on Brimham rocks this afternoon. Really looking forward to getting out in the fresh air.
We have been beavering away at the bathroom. Well mainly ian, as he is off this week. Only the carpet to lay and then it is done. It looks so much brighter.

Did this grungey lo of my nephew at the weekend. The photo was taken just before he left for his tour of duty. Really like grunge at the moment. Based this on the sketch this sketch for last week.

This is the lo i did for the scrapbook club which met this weekend. Used papers by doodlebug. They are delish. Blossom is by bazzil. lovely.

Do you know i am getting so forgetful lately. Twice today i have mislaid my handbag. I have been at home, so that is o.k. Only this morning i thought i was going o be late for work. I had to search for a good 10 minutes before i found it. Anyone got any good tips for improving my memory. I am willing to try any thing. As long as it does not involve animals.
This lo is of my darling boy and his cousin. The one fighting in afghanistan. It was taken august 2006. Luke really enjoys his cousin and we all cannot wait until he is back with us safe and sound. I used the sketch 42 from Sketch this. I am quite pleased with it. I like the circular bits on it. The papers are by Daisy D. Thanks for stopping by and having a look.

I have just been for a lovely long walk through our local pine woods. The dogs, luke and his friend came along too. It was great. the boys and Turner, the dog, run all over got really muddy and generally had a good time. It is so funny listening to the conversations of two 11 year old boys. Oh to be so young and carefree again. Anyway hope that tiers them out for the day.

Hi hope you are all well. How is the weather with you. After all the severe weather warnings thing as appeared apart from a bit of rain. Which as now stopped. Not that i am complaining, rain i can deal with, snow i only like when i do not have to go to work or drive any distance in it.

How is your weekend going. I have had a love day today. A long lay in. Nice week with Turner in the pinewoods. Completed this lo. The sketch is from Sketch this. It is of the Turkish Baths in Harrogate. I just love going there, although i do not get the chance often. It is so relaxing and you feel so clean and refreshed after. Only like to go when it is ladies only. They do mixed sessions, with costumes of course, but i prefer not to have to deal with half naked men. Unless they are between the ages of 20 and 35 with a six pack and biceps to match. Anyway would highly recommend a visit. Takecare.

Tranquil Moments

Tranquil moments. How i enjoy those. The quiet lounge in the bath filled with bubbles, sipping on a glass filled with an other kind of bubbles. The lay in on a weekend. Only they are too far apart and too few.

Hi day.
Still feeling a bit iffy, even had a nap this afternoon and still feel tired. Hope it passes soon. I was going to go to the gym, but think i may have to give it a miss today. Did this card for this weeks sketch this card challenge. Sorry just can not remember the name of the pp. It is on the tip of my tongue. I used up some scraps that i had so the name strip was not on them.

My nephew is off back to afghanistan today and hopefully will be back in 9 weeks. Fingers crossed he keeps safe.

What a day today. The rain is relentless. Not been feeling too good today. Upset tummy and just feel so tired. Just managed to get this lo done before the next sketch goes up on Sketchthis. Sorry the lighting is so bad. I have had to photograph this this evening, so used artificle light. I so cannot wait until the nights get lighter. It is a picture of my son on a hawk walk at centerparcs. He loved it. The picture is of him holding the Hawk. Thought i try my hand at grunge. Not sure if it worked.

Di Hickman #3

Hi
We have been out looking for tiles today for the bathroom which is our next project. How i love fresh newly decorated rooms, but after the 4th store i have had enough. I forget were i have seen what, and i just want to get on to something else. Today was like that. Decided on something i liked in the very first shop, but had to check out the others, just to make sure i did not miss something.
Any way the tiles have been chosen. Hipppeee. Now just awaiting the next mess, but in that age old saying 'it will be worth it in the end'

cps 47 and stopping time

This is my take on this weeks cps sketch.

The papers are by wild asparagus, i think. Used the cuttlebug embossing folder for the vines on the background. Cut out a circles and used the notch and dye tool to creat the scolloped edge around the larger one.
This is my latest lo. Took me ages to decide on the title. I known what i felt about the photos, but putting it into words was difficult. This photos are of Luke in his last year at primary school. I was really sad that he was leaving it. It was the end of an era. Not just for him, but for me. He was leaving close contact with some of his friends, and me also. He has made new friends and so have i. But i do miss those days.

What a weekend

Had the most fantastic weekend. Warren looks slightly thinner, but not bad. Not even a scratch.My sister and i just laughed so much last night. My sides ache. Drink lots. Mainly champagne. It was lovely. Warren as taken lots of photos of the countryside and the afghan soilders. One looked about 12 years old. There was also this video clip of some action, which was not to my liking. There was nothing gory in it, but still. I just do not need to see that. But the countryside is beautiful.
It was my father in laws birthday yesterday. Because we where away we rang him and will bob his card around this eveing. This is it.

Yippee and yippee again, i am as happy as a person living in happy land with an endless supply of calorie free chocolate.The reason, well. Number one i have been given a place on the Di Hickman design team for the month of march. How cool is that. That i am so so so sooooo soooo pleased. I cannot wait until march.
Next reason, my friend suzanne as arranged a girls night out for my birthday which is next week. Restaurant booked for 8pm on friday. I love time with my girl friends.
Last reason, warren as arrived safely home from afghanistan. Only for 2 weeks r&r. You already know how much i am looking forward to this family weekend. I had a quick chat with him on the phone before he was heading out for a pizzia with his girlfriend. He sounds o.k, but will be better able to assess just how he really is when i see him.
Oh and i forgot to mention i had a lo published in the december issue of The Scrapbook Magazine. It is the first one in the readers gallery. The christmas lo.
So you can see why i am happy at the moment. Long my it last.

Have managed to do a card for this weeks Card positioning systems. I really liked this sketch. Just used up some scrap piece of paper, think it was by creative imaginations. Foil word and flower are from Craftwork cards.
And one for the Arty Girlz, which required the used of buttons. Used papers by daisy d. One of my favourites. But i have many favourites.

Hi. had a fab day yesterday with the srap club girls. I really liked my lo which i will upload for you tomorrow it is too dark now to get a good photo.I just love that creative process, sharing it with others and seeing what they do. It amazes me how we can all have the same papers and stuff, but product such variety.
I cannot wait until it is lighter on a night. It seems to be going on for ages.

Di Hickmans 1st jan challenge

Did you know that this weekend is said to be the most depressive of the year. All the celebrations are over and the weather is poor, and the nights still dark. Well it has not been depressive for me.I going to have a new hair cut to day. I do like going to the hair dressers. And i have been to the gym, twice this week. I feel really pleased with myself. This year will see a new, healthier, improved me. I have also done some scrapping. The jackie's happy scrappers meet tomorrow, so double lo almost done for that. I just want to twick it a bit so will upload that later for you to see. Also did this card for the di hickman challenge for this week

Also looking forward to next weekend. Warren, my nephew will be back for 2 weeks r&r. So we are having a second xmas. Really looking forward to seeing him.

Arty girls challenge

Happy new year everyone. This is going to be a fantastic year. Don't know just exactly what is going to happen, but i am starting it off in a postive mood.
Worked out my resolutions. Still the usual. Loss weight, excerise more. Blog more. Anyway here goes for a fab 08. Hope yours will be good too.

Here is my creation for the arty girlz challenge. You had to emboss either dry or heat, or both. I used the cuttlebug embossing dies.
The fit perfectly into my bigshot. I also heat embossed the words. So covered on both counts there.
Going to go to the gym to night, first time in over a year. I will let you know how i get on.

This will be my last entry for 2007. I can not believe how fast this year as gone. So many things have happened. Warren gone to war. Luke started electric guitar lessons. New kitchen and scrap room. Which remains me i have not yet up loaded the photos. I need to take some when it looks reasonably tidy. Don't know when that will be.
I used the sketch from sketch this as the inspiration for this lo. Slightly adapted as i usually do. It is a picture of my friend amy. She lives in american now, but used to live here. I really miss her at times. She came back for a flying visit in april when this was taken. The papers are by creative imagination.

This is my attempt at the cps #45 sketch.
I got this fantastic card pack as a present to my self from craftwork carks. It iss lovely full of nice papers and different sized cards. atahese papers are from dcwv. The happy birthday card with the embossed dragonfly is from craftwork cards. I chalked it. Not chalked in a while.
Now need to work on my new year resolutions. Have a lovely new years eve. See you next year.

1st pencil lines sketch and Di Hickmans 4th dec sketch

This is my first attempt at one of the pencil lines sketches. I have adapted it. The photos where too big to go on one page so i did a double lo. I do like double lo's. They look better in the album. But single lo's have their place too. Sorry about the quality of the photo. The light is bad today. In fact most of the time at the moment the lighting is dull. Not good for taking good photo's. I have used the winter wonderland papers from craft work cards. They are lovely. I have also invested in some swirl dye cutters for the sizzix bigshot. I am really into swirls at the moment. I have used a crafters workshop template for the hand drawn ones. Hope you like it.

Have not done a sketch for ages. So here is mine on this weeks Di Hickmans.The papers are by basic gray. Used the notch and dye cutter for the scolloped edge.
Hope you all had a nice xmas. My sister got to speak to my nephew on xmas day, he is still safe and well. Although he was out on patrol on xmas day. He will be back to see us soon. It will be nice to see him. We are planning a second xmas for him which we will be able to really spoil him.

Di hickman is calling for new team members. I thought i would have a go. I would just love to be in a design team. Anyway here is my attempt. I have used daisy d's papers.Along with a sizzix circle and a swirl dye cutter. The flower is chipbroad and made using a cuttlebug flower dye.

One of my new year resolutions will be to blog more regularly. I promise. I did this card, i think it was a di hickman challenge, but now can not find it on the website and it is not this weeks. Anyway just thought i would share it will you.

Still long time no post

Hi. I am still trying to get on top of things. Preparation and present buying for xmas. Sorting out my scrap room and try to do xmas cards. Have sent off my parcels for the boys out in afghanistan. Hope they get there in time. I have had to hunt for suitable things to send. I have sent chocolates, as well as other stuff, even though it says not too as it melts. Warren is really missing it and says he will squeeze it out if he has too.
I also had my first scrapbooking seession. The club we went too as closed down. So some of the others asked me to start on up. I do a layout and get the materials, and they pay me £7.oo. It was rally good. The response was great. Everyone loved it. There was 4 of them and we are looking for new members, so if you want to join us let me know.
And here is the first scrap page from the Jackie's happy scrappers club. So named by the members on the first session.

Hi i am sorry i have not blogged for a while. I have been so busy. The kitchen is nearly done. The floor is being laid as i type. Only the curtains to do. Or rather i should say blinds. I just need to get them chosen. Also my much awaited scrap room is taking shape. Lights are in. Wall unit fitted. Walls painted. Only the carpet to go back down. Should be in by the weekend. Fingers crossed.Will post some photos when done. Managed to fit in one card. Only nine hundred and ninety nine to go.

Well the kitchen is coming a long. It looks like a kitchen now. Only the tiles left to do and the floor. The fridge is going in tomorrow. I can not wait. I have spent the last 2 weeks going backwards and forwards to the fridge in the garage, it will be so nice to be able to just trun around in the kitchen and get what i need straight away.
I have ordered my craft table and storage units, and they will arrive on wednesday. Still need to paint that room yet. But on track for craft room done by xmas. Hippeee.
Had a go at this weeks CPS challenge. Used the lovely blonde moments papers. I love how the design as been reduced to fit on cards. The xmas kisses stamp is also from blonde moments.

Hi. Hope you have had a good weekend. Went to my lovely sisters today. It was her charming and handsome partners birthday resently. They are off to New York on saturday. Lucky them. I have not had a holiday this year, I just have a bomb site for a kitchen instead. Anyway i wanted to drop off his present and see them before they went. We sat chatting and catching up as do. Talk about warren. We are making plans for a xmas when he comes home on leave in january. It will be lovely to see him.

Di Hickman Nov #2

Hi all. Well the kitchen is still nowhere near finished. We have to endure 4 more days, hopefully, of no cooker, fridge or dishwasher. Machanical dishwasher that is. There is still me. It is maddening not having a fridge in the kitchen. We have one in the garage. Every time we want a drink it means a trip to the garage. I just keep thinking it will be lovely when it is finished. Then it will be time to start on my craft room. Hipppeee. i am so lookng forward to it. And tonight we are going to get a chinse takeaway. We never get takeaways. Ian perfers to cook something special on the weekend. Usually with fresh veg from the allotment. Which is always nice, but sometimes it is just nice to chill and get a takeaway.
This is my interpretation of DiHickmans sketch
I am way behind on xmas cards so you may be seeing a few in the next few weeks. I have used the winter wonderland papers by craftwork cards. I used the cuttlebug embossing folder for the snowflakes at the bottom of the card. And a sizzix cut and emboss snowflake which is at the top of the card. Arty Girlz Heart Challenge

Had an email from my beloved nephew who is out in afhganistan. He is feeling low at the moment. They had a resent death in his platoon. Very sad. I have sent out a tin of Hero's chocolates for them all. Hope they arrive o.k. I have sent him an email as well to try to support him. It is difficult knowing what to say to help lift him.
When i went to the post office today the lady behind the counter told me that the parcels will only be free until the 7th of December. Strange time to stop, i was planning on sending him one at lease once a week in the run up to xmas. I also have my nieces husband out there, so i am sending to two at the moment. I can not wait until they are both safe and sound back home. Any idea's of what i could send them to cheer them up and try to have at least some nice xmas experience, please let me know.
Managed to do the Arty Girlz challenge this week. The papers are the new range from Blonde Moments. There is a link in my 'were i shop' section to the right. I did a lo using these papers which you can not see as i have entered it in the scrapbooker of the year contest. So i decide to use up the scraps. I have lots and lots of scraps. I will have to try to use more of them. Or would any of you like them????!!!

New kitchen is going to be fitted on monday. I cannot wait. The big american fridge is in the back room waiting to be installed. We are going to have a dishwasher as well. And a double oven instead of the horrible combined oven and grill thing that we have at the moment. Not that i am mad about cooking. I love eating, but it is Ian who does most of the cooking. And i have ordered a bookcase and a wall mounted shelving unit to go in the back room. It is going to be my craft room. Another thing i am excited about. I want to be sat in my new craft room on xmas day. Most previous xmases we have had visitors or going to someone elses house. Now this year i want to have a chillout xmas. Just lounge in my pj's all day if i want. Watch Luke open his presents. Make the round of phoning relatives etc. And scrap and card make and just craft. Hopefully. Only black cloud is that Warren will be out in Afganistan. They are told because it is a special day for us that there will be lots of attacks. Lets all pray that peace will prevail soon.
I was reading the other day that a woman dies every 28min's during childbirth in Afganistan. Although the Taliban are not in power their mentality still remains. There are hospital facilities available with maternity units but the men will not allow the women to go for prenatal care. They would rather risk losing their wifes and unborn children. Very very sad.
There is also a ward in one of the southern hospitals called the Liberation ward. It is full of women who have set fire to themselves inorder to escape violent abusive relationships. The abuse not only comes from the men, but the mothering laws. Some of these girls are do not die straight way but slowly over a period of days or months. Again so very sad. Makes me grateful i live in a here.

Bit of a quicky tonight. Been to fat freddies for a crop.
So much fun. Would show you my lo but not finished as yet.Will do when it is. Only thing is after working all day a am not at my best. But i just have to go. Some of my friends have asked me to organise some scrapbooking sessions and do a lo for them to do. Which i think i will have a go at.

Cannot believe it has been so long since i last blogged. Just been so busy.
Windows are in and new american fridge delivered. Not going to be installed now until a week tomorrow.I can't wait be have a decent sized fridge in the kitchen, and cold water on tap. Oh do you get it, on tap!!
I lovely tiles i like are a discontinued line and a couple of the colours are short. So we have had to go back to the tile shop and do a bit of swopping round.
My current c.j as been lost in the post, so i have to do a new one. I am not happy about this, but i guess it happens.
Also decided to enter scrap booker of the year, so rushed to get 3 lo's done and posted in time. Sent special delivery of course. Only way to ensure it got there.
Now on a happier note i spent yesterday at Art from the Heart with the amazing Dy Reavely. It was a scrap attack day and jam packed with projects. She has these fab chipboard mini books. In lots of different shapes. We made this one into a xmas tree book. I went with my good friend Lynn. Hope the dinner party went o.k lynn.

Guess what i have won a blog prize. It is from the lovely Sharon. You can see her fantastic work on shh-craft-creations. Thanks to Tommy for picking my name out. It is a long time since i won anything. I am so excited. I just love getting stash.

This weeks Di Hickman's challenge. Blogging a bit patchy at the moment. Just so busy. Windows are in now. Except they managed to break one of the panes of glass in the patio doors. It will be replaced next wednesday. However i can not complain. The company was Niddal windows in Knaresborough and they did a brilliant job. The Fitters Andy and John where most professional. Polite and curtious at all times. They took great care to cover all the furnishings in each room and tidy after wards. Just a pleasure to have in my home.
I have also made a last minute decision to enter scrapbooker of the year competition at Scrapbook magazine. I could not decide whether to enter or not. I entered last year and made it to the top 20, but was not one of the winners. Although i was very excited to get that far. Anyway thought i would get it a shoot again. I need to do 3 lo's and have managed to do 2. So working on the last one this weekend.

I can not beleive it as been a week since i last blogged. Where as the time gone? I have returned to work for 3 days. Which was o.k. but my arm did ache at the end of the day. I am off this week and so is Luke as it is half term. We are joined by 2 work mean. Andy and john. They are replacing all the windows and doors. Also putting patio doors on the dining room. It will look great but what a mess! Dust everywhere yesterday, and it will be the same again today. So for the passed 3 days i have been preparing the rooms so that they access the windows. Then cleaning up after they had gone. And any one who knows me will know how much i hate cleaning. Mostly because i am so short of time and do not want to spend it dusting etc.

Hi. I have had an email from my lush nephew out in Afganistan. So far he is safe. I have sent a couple of parcels. Which he said was fab. I know the post office service is not getting a good press of late, however i think it is fantastic that i can send a parcel out of afgankstan free if it is 2kg's or under. And 2kg's is quite heavy.
Anyway he is missing chocolate and tea bags, so along with many other goods they will be in his next parcel. My son sent him a parcel last week along with other information he placed a complete copy of his school timetable just so he would know what my son was doing and when. How cute is that.
Oh and janet if who read this i saw your lo in scrapbook magazine. Well done on getting published It is a fantastic lo.
Long time again since i did a layout. So here is one for you to have a look at.
I really want to try and get some more done. I have lots of photo's to scrap.

Fridges and fancies

Hi spent yesterday looking for a new fridge freezer. We found one on the internet. It is fantastic It is one of those american style. With the cold water and ice dispenser. I can't wait it is so much bigger than the one we have. And i can not wait to be able to just have freshly chilled water. It will be here in 2 weeks time. Ready tp be installed when we have are new kitchen done. Yes it is all go here. We are having all our windows and doors replaced next week. And what i am really looking forwad too is doing out the small back room downstairs which is going to become my craft room. Yeppeeeee. Space and room at last.
Am in the process of making my fab sister an envelope book. I have bound it with the bind it all. First time i have used it. I can only show sneaky peaks at it, as my sister visits my blog and i don't want her to see all of it yet. Papers are from the S.E.I. range.

Moan and Arty Girlz challenge # 4

Decide to have a go at the Arty Girlz Sketch in an attempt to cheer myself up. I have had a bit of a bad time of late. Nothing major. Just my diabetes is running a little high. I need to lose weight. I have to travel 20 miles to work, at the moment i have a car parking permit which looks like i will not be able to keep. So that means i will have to travel by public transport which will mean a 3 hour travel time every day i work and £28 pounds a week in train costs. I will need to use my car to get to the train station, so will still have those travel costs. I posted my current cj on the 1st of october and it still as not arrived, despite it been sent recorded delivery they are unable to tell me where it is. Oh and i submitted some cards for a design team place which i have failed to be selected. I would love to be in a design team. Anyway maybe one day.
So on with this card.
You had to create a card without using anything sticky.
I used basic grey papers and machine stitched around them. That was a first for me. to machine stitch. I have done a lot of hand stitching, but since the sewing machine was out i thought i would give it a shot. Not sure i got the tension right but at least it is holding the paper to the card.
Used eyelets and ribbons to hold the buttons on.
The brads to hold the name plate on.
Stamps used are from the Blonde Moments xmas range of stamps.

Got this fab card kit from 2 jills
Just thought i would have a play around today.
I have got my bind it all tool out and are in the process of trying to create an envelope book. Will show you that tomorrow if it is o.k.
Have made a wind sock today with Luke. Since it was his project i just showed him how to use the sewing machine and away he went. He is in the process of decorating it.
Very nice day today. Warmer than it was in the summer. Had a very nice walk with the dog this morning. Don't suppose we will get many more of these now.

Hi. What a beauitful autumn day. It is warmer today than it was for some of the days in summer.
Does any one know how to make a Wind Sock. Luke needs to do one for a school project. I thought i would just use an old pillow case. Sew it into a funnel shape. I will have to get out the old sewing machine and dust it off. I have not used it for years. May also take the opportunatey to do a bit of machine stitching on some lo's and cards

Sore arm

Sorry have not blogged for a few days. My arm has been a bit achy to say the lease.
I went to fracture clinic yesterday.I have to stop wearing my collar and cuff. I feel very nervous that i will knock my arm. No driving until next week. I will really look forward to be able to drive again. Physio starts next week, but in the mean time i am to to try to keep straightening it. Which is painful. Anyway i have managed to russell up this little number.

Here is my take on this weeks Di Hickmans challenges
Thought i would have a go at a man's card again. I seem to have more males in my life than females. I long for some more females so i can do more lo's with flowers on.
Anyway when i was doing this card and heat embossing the circular 'for Gentlemen' emblishment sparks started flying from it. So i have had to buy a new one which i will check out later today, hopefully. I have a busy scrapping day tomorrow. I have to finish my next circle journal which will be about 'me' The other team members have to write what they like and dislike.
It is also my brother-in-law to be's 50th birthday next week so i need to russell up something for him.

Had a fantastic time at the show. Spent a small fortune, but ay ho it is only money and one as to ensure a good supply of stash to work with. There was lots of lovely stuff. Art from the heart have the new Love Elsie range. Which is delish. Got a Zutter bind it all. I have wanted one for ages and luckily Stamp Addicts where selling them. Also got lots of paper and card. My good friend was very kind to me on saturday, she carried my bags and made me sit whilst she got coffee's and lunch. Thanks very much Lynn. Then i went again on sunday. I had a free ticket for both days. Given to all members of craft work cards. Lynn could not make it on sunday, so my darling son came along as my bag carrrier. I treated him to a double topped jersey ice cream, which he thought was yummy. So that kept him happy. Arm is a bit sore. People kept knocking. Some people did actually apologise and check i was o.k. But others just looked and carried on pushing through. Some people seem to lose all sense of good manners. The Sketch this card site are looking for new design tem members. I would looovvee to be part of a design team. So anyone out there looking for new team members ?!!! This is my attempt for sketch this card:27

I felt in the card making mood today so did 2 for this weeks Di Hickman sketch Made the snowflake one first, which i quite like. I bought some stencils from fat freddies they are by The Crafters Workshop and are really fantastic. They have lots to choose from including alphabets, swirls , flowers and doohickys ( brackets and exclaimation marks to you and me) Any way i did the swirls by the snowflake with the Regal Flourish.

Luck for me Fat Freddies will be at the Great Northern Show tomorrow, so i will be able to stock up on supplies. I am really looking forward to it. I love getting new stash. And apart from walking the dog and going to fracture clinic i have not been out. Starting to go a little stir crazy. I neeeeeed to get ooouuut

two tone ribbon

This is for this weeks challenge over on cps
For some reason the ribbon looks two tone, but it is not in real life. It is just plain burgundy. I am pleased i am still managing to craft, even if some what slowly. My arm is getting a little more comfortable. What i really miss is a bath. I am having to have a shower and my dh washes my hair, but it just does not feel the same. I love soaking in a bath. It is like my little space for a short while. Cann't wait to get back too it.

LO at last.

I started this lo before my accident and have managed to finish it. Although it has taken 3 days. Still i don't have anything else to do. In some ways it is nice been a lady of leisure, but i sure miss my independence and being able to drive. I have somelovely friends. I have had offers of lifts to the great northern papercraft show which is on this weekend. Lifts to next weeks scrap at fat freddies. Aswell as offers of help from my non scrapping friends. Makes me feel luckily. And then of cause i have my dh and ds both of whom are seeing to my every need. I well and truely are blessed. Thanks to each and everyone.
Back to the lo. It is for a challenge site by the team i am in at uk scrappers. We are to use ribbons. Which are coming out of the star and are the crosses on the large photo corner.

slight accident

Hi i have a slight accident. Whilst helping set up the bbq at the scout AGM i tripped over a step. Landed on the concrete on top of my left arm and fractured my radial head. It is very sore at the moment, even with pain killers. Luckily i am right handed, which is unhurt. However it is very difficult doing every thing one handed. I have to eat with a folk, little an american GI. And going to the toilet is not that quick and easy as it was.
Will keep blogging, cause i can do that one handed. I do have some old lo's which i have not put on my blog so will upload them when i feel up to it. Still feel a bit shakey and diffenately sore at the moment.
Still it will give me time to write (one handed ) those letters to my boy's out in Afghanistan.

Hi just quickly run up a card for this weeks Di Hickman's challenge Hope you like it.

Spent most of the afternoon constructimg a letter to my nephew, and it still is not finished. Not sure what to write, so just waffled on. Tried to make is funny and interesting to read. Hope he likes it. I found a thing called a freeze stick, it is applied to your temples and wrists in an attempt to cool you down. It is 35 degrees out in afghanistan at the moment. Hope it helps. I am also sending him some Haribo sweets, which are his favourite. Hope they don't melt.
Whizzed up an other card. Thought i would have a go at a man's card. What do you think will it do?

So had a go at this weeks challenge. I am doing more cards than layouts at the moment. Might have to change to cardda jack or scrap cardda. Than again i might not. I really will try to get some layouts done. The team i am in on UK Scrappers are doing their own challenge. We have to use ribbons. Of which i only have about a thousand in mutliply colours, thicknesses and designs. So many i do not know how to decide.

Sorry not posted for a week. Just do not know where the time goes. Been busy with Luke going to high school. And of course it is this week that my nephew goes to afganistan. Fingers and all things crossable, crossed that he is kept safe and will return too us. My sister has had a hard time today, she awoke crying. Seems a little better this evening. It is her partners 50th birthday in october and she is planing a surpraise party. Think that will keep her occupied for a while. Back to school

I my have just had 2 weeks off, but after this weekends partying i am bushed.
I had promised to take luke to the pictures to see the Simpsons. Luck for me he decided to leave it until thursday. He has been really good today sorting out his room. Throwing out lots of 'baby stuff'. Because he is off to high school tomorrow. He looks so grown up in his very expensive uniform. I have spent a small fortune on equiping him for his new school.
Bit of a trumatic time for me of late. What with nephews going to Afghanistan and now my boy nearly grown up. Where is the time going. Here are some piccies of my lovely son

Going off to my lovely sisters tomorrow. My beautiful nephew is going to a war zone in september. Unfortunately. We are all anxious has to his wellbeing. Both me and my sister will not rest easily until his safe return. We are having a leaving party for him tomorrow. I know i will have to try and be cheerful for his sake, but i just feel os worried for him.

I have had these photos and papers for a while so thought now is the time. Thanks secret santa for the papers. They are perfect for boy's pages.

Have had fun today. Working out a layout for new kitchen. I am going to have an american style fridge which dispenses water and ice cubes. A dishwasher. A double oven. Only do not know how much it will cost as yet. fingers crossed it is not too much. Other wise i may have to increase my husbands working hours lol. Not really he would not fall for that one.

Fat Freddies card comp.

I decided i would have a go at this months fat freddies card competition.
Thses are my attempts. I really enjoyed making them.

ONly when i came to read the instructions again i found i had not done them correctly.
Tha area on the right handside was to be made up of only paper and/ or card. And the embellisments were to be placed on the left.
So that now rules out the 'Snow' due to the ribbons and 'Thanks' because of the flowers and bling.

Still thought i would let you see them since i have slaved over a hot crafting table to make them.
Great day off again. Sleeping in every morning. It is fab not having to get up at6am, and waking up when i am ready, and not having run around like a mad chicken

I had a nice time in Scarborough. Stayed a bit longer than the weekend, as you have properly gathered. I have also been inspired to get the back room sorted in my house. I have out grown my craft room which is the small bedroom. We have a back room down stairs that is not really used for anything particular but it soon will be. I am in the process of stripping the wall paper and am going out to choose some paint later. Just need to find some nice storage units. Got any tips?

Also have done a few cards which i left at my mums. She is in to card making aswell. Only does not get out and about much. I bought her a new sizzix sidekick and my dad got her some dies for it. She was over the moon and a i bet still merrilly cutting out hearts and flowers.

Glittery lo

Went to Fat Freddies First time i have been and it was very nice. It was nice meeting new fellow crafters and looking in a new shop. Of course spent more than i intended..
Made this lo. First time i have used glitter on a layout. Saw two others using it and the effects were great so thought what the hell try something new. Not all that sure i lkie it but then again i am a beginner with glitter.

In keeping with using up my scraps, although there was not many left. I made a glittery birthday card.

New heights and Sketch # 25

We went up on the Yorkshire Eye on Saturday. What a thrille. I am SO TERRIFIED of heights. I really did think 4 or 5 times about whether i would go up on it. Only i do not want to be ruled by fear. So i went, i had to talk to myself and say i was o.k. I felt hot and sickly. But i just kept on repeating to myself was o.k. I did eventully open my eyes to see some wonderful sights. So glad i did go on it. I feel really proud of myself for doing it.

Had a fantastic time at my sisters. With a little or a lot of the falling over juice.

Mended

Hi i have managed to mend the camera, but lost the photo's. Two where of Luke which i had taken when i first got the camera.:(
But still it is now working and that will teach me to transfer them too a disc or computer.
Anyway. Here are the other two sets of ATC's that i did.

Have named that set 'Fly away free'. Just as it says on the ATC. So to speak.
The next one i am not sure of. Maybe Red cross because of the red ribbon and gold cross. Or Heavenly pursuits. Not sure, what do you think?

Have found this Star ATC card holder made by my own fair hands.( well slightly tanned now from the sun) designed by the famous Dy Reavely. I have made a circal journal in this star card design, but slightly bigger.
I will let you have a look at that when it is returned too me which will be september time. Cann't wait.

Cold is still as bad. Am taking the medicine regularly. Hope the weather is going to stay nice. First bbq of the year on friday. Am so looking forward to it and seeing my sis.

Still feeling under the weather. Spent a small fortune at the chemist on cold remedes. I do not want to have a cold for my holidays, or this weekend as i am off to a bbq at my lovely sisters. Which i am greatly looking forward too.

Fantastic time

Luke as returned safe and sound. He had a fantastic time. Loved Alton Towers. Had a go at rifle shooting.And well just lots of stuff. He looked really tired when we picked him up. I thought he needed a wash, but the darkness on his skin was not dirt but a sun tan.
So nice to have him back. I did give him a big hug. The blood supply to his arms is only just returning.
Sorry no picture to post today. Am trying to work on a lo which i started yesterday. Decided today i did not like it, so removed some elements. Having a bit of a block.
I feel all headachy and have a sore throat. Feel like i am coming down with cold. Just my luck when the sun is out. Hope i will not be ill for my holidays in 2 weeks.

New Challenges

I have found this other great challenge site Di Hickman. She does card and scrapbook challenges. This is my attempt at the 1st August card sketch.

I really enjoyed doing this card. I feel a punch phase coming on.

It is my fathers 70th birthday coming soon. So i have whipped up this little number for him.

Sorry about the poor picture quality. The flash as reflected back from the silver on the card. But you get the idea.
I am so excited as my beautiful boy is coming back today after his adventures at scout camp. I can not wait to give him a great big hug. If he will let me!

Sunny journeys

Had a nice day today. Not at work for a start off. Met up with my friend Lynn, hi lynn. We spent hours at the craft shop in Embsay. Spent more than i ment too. Had a look at lynns holiday scrapbook which was beautiful. The sun shined all the time i was driving there and on the way back, which was nice after driving in the rain for the past few months.
Was watching the news tonight which showed the scout meeting in Essex where they are reaffirming with vows. Sounds like a wedding! Tried looking to see if i could spot Luke, no luck. Still there was about 40 thousand there so the odds where a bit slim. Everyone looked like they were having a good time, so i guess Luke will be as well. Can't wait until he gets back so i can hopefully find out what he has been up too. Then again i may only get the odd grunt. Anyone know how to interrupt the language of teenagers?? Could do with some helpful hints

Thanks to every one who visits my blog. I have had over 200 this month. And i am really pleased with that amount of hits, so thanks alot.

What a lovely day, do you think summer is here at last?? I am so glad that the weather is better. I can not think of anything worse than camping...except camping in the rain. I have so many bad memories of camping when i was a child. I like my luxuries like a toilet and washing facilites on suite. Anyway i think the sun will make all the adventures at camp much more fun for Luke.
I have spent the evening being creative to help pass the time and help take my mind off Luke.
I have made 2 cards with the scraps for the yesterdays layout.

I don't know about you but i do find mens cards are hard to do. I have decided to try to do more to improve my skills at doing them. So i did this one .

Had another super day at Art from the Heart. With out the traumas of yesterday. It was lovely chatting and catching up with everyone. To day just did our own thing. I russelled up this double layout for this weeks challenge on UK scrappers.

Also picked up two card packs so will be making them this week i hope.
Missing Luke terribly. I know he will be having a good time. But still. The house is so quiet without him. I think the dog Turner is missimg him too.

Distressing day

I have had a distressing day in both the artistic and emotional ways. Today my most beloved son went to scout camp. In sherwood forest. Driven by my most beloved but directionally challenged husband, along with 2 other scouts in the car. Has i feared he became lost. A journey which should have taken 1 1/2 hours took 3 hours. I received communications from the camp wondering if i had heard from them as they had not arrived, but nothing from my dearly beloved family. As it turns out they knew they where lost and where they had gone wrong, and how they where going to get back on track. However they did not realise had much every one else was worrying ( me) and did not think to let any one else (me) know that they were o.k just taken the wrong direction.
In the mean time, in an attempt to take my mind off the adventures of my husband and son i was undertaking some crafting development at the Art from the Heart. Along with my very good friend Lyn. Hi Lyn, looking forward to wednesday. I just love all that scummy stuff there. We learned some background and tags art techniques.

Will be trying these techiques out in both scrapping and cardmaking.
Off there again tomarrow for a crop. Cann't wait, i just love getting together with others for craftyness, if you know what i mean.

Had a bit of a strange day today. Every thing happened as usual for a tuesday. But it will be the last time things will happen like this again on a tuesday, forever. My baby has left primary school. I picked him up for the last time at that school. It feels so weird. Like it was just last year that he start there. I cannot believe that the time as gone so quick. I want to do it over again.
Luke is o.k he is looking forward to going to high school, not sure if i am. ( that is about him going to high school, i have already been) May have to lock him in the cupboard now, so him will never leave. (only joking)
Consoled myself with making some cards tonight, whilst sipping a glass of wine. Now things seem a little bright. Found this brilliant card challenge site

I have just been doing my entry in a circle journal. It is about your era. My time was in the 80's. I have just had the most wonderful fun remember all the stuff i got up too. I started the eights as a shy retireing teenager and ended them a confident independant young woman.
Here are just a few of the things i remember

Star wars the empire strikes back, and the return of the Jedi.
Yuppies.
Blue masscara.
Leg warmers.
Jane Fonda's excerise video.
Rubik Cube.
The cold war and the fall of the Berlin wall.
Educating rita.
An Office and a Gentleman (one of my fav's. Watched lots, to the point i could recall most of the script) (Had more free time then)

The biggest thing i remember really is the music.
I loved nearly every thing that was out.

Hi. I have just spent nearly £100.00 pounds on Luke's new uniform for high school. Can you believe one pair of trousers was £17.00. We can not just go and get any old pair of black trousers because the school have their own with a school badge on. Some of us are not rich and finding the money to pay is very hard. I really feel that we are been taken advantage of.
Any way my back to fun things.
I have my new cuttlebug alphabet, which it fanastic and i will be trying to doing lots of good stuff will it in the future, so watch this space.

These beauties arrived in the post today. I like these cuttlebug dies. They cut through chipboard. I don't have the cuttlebug cutter, but they go through my bigshot wonderfully. I have also order an alphabet and am just waiting for that to arrive. It is so exciting, it is like xmas. But without all the shopping ques and mess.

Just whipped up this card for a friend whose birthday is at the weekend.

Now back to see what else i can russell up.

sore feet

What a lovely day today. I am so glad that i was a day off to enjoy it.
Had i nice time shopping for the scout fair.
I forgot to take my camera, can you believe it. I never go any where without it, but i did today. So no pictures sorry.
Had a good time though, Ian helped with the hot dogs. Even he said it was quite fun.
And the rain stayed of until nearly the end. So all in all today was a good to be alive day.

Rainy day

What a horrible day. Was going to go to party in the park, but the rain put pay to that.
However spent the day scrapping a lo.

Made some cards out the scraps that where left. What do you think? It would be nice to see a comment if any one would care to leave one.

Treated Luke yesterday, we went to see the new Hary Potter. It was fantastic, honestly they just keep getting better. Some of the people in the cinema clapped when the bad characters got defeated and then clapped again at the end when it had finished. It really is worth going to see.
After we went to the Pizza hut. I just love pizza. And you can tell. My thighs are the circumference of 2 large deep pans today. Must get back into the routine of going to the gym. I know i will feel better for it, it is just hard trying to fit every thing in.
Tomarrow it is the scout fair. I have managed to get some equipment, a cococunt shy and some clowns that you throw balls through holes in them. I am on refreshments. I have to go and get enough for about 200 hot dogs, squash and hot drinks.
Hope the weather picks up tomarrow, but some how i do not think it will.

Sorry not been blogging for a week. I honestly do not know where the time goes.
We had the summer fair at school on saturday. The rain managed to hold off until after it had finished.
Luke managed to collect lots of junk as per usual. I think he got 14 jam jars full of sweets or toys. That is what is in the carrier bags.

Whilst i was at the fair doing my parental duty my darling husband was doing this. Still he did make the most delicious tea so can'nt really complain.
I have inadvertantly become the social secetary for scouts. Now their fair is next monday which i have to try and fined some stall equipment for. Wish me luck.
I also have to do some hand outs for the next social event, which i have done. Thank goodness, just hope they will go down well at the committee meeting tomarrow.

Great i am finally back. The computer is virus free and super duper fast. Whilst i have been away i have been working on this chipboard handbag album for my friend Karen.

Also great news about the bbc reporter being released. It is nice when the news is good for a change.

This is my take on week 2's scrapbooking the secret. I am a week behind but i will catch up. Busy day tomarrow. Plan to do circle journal l.o and week 3's l. for the secret challenge.

It as been a lovely day today despite the doom and gloom the weather foregasters predicted. I have managed to do lots of washing and am getting it dry. I just love the smell of air dried linen. It will be fresh sheets on the bed to night, smelling all loveellly.

I have had a great day today.
Spent at Art from the Heart learning about colours and moods and feelings and what each colour means to me. Here are my companions, hello girls!

My head is a swirl of ideas and colour combinations and well just about anything, and where am i going to fined the time to scrap it??

I have also managed how to trim my photos of my l.o's in picture it. They look so much better with out the table or carpet or whatever edging them.
